for the
Upper American River and Chili Bar Hydroelectric Projects
Issued: March 14, 2008
This process has as one of its main components a one-step National
Environmental Policy Act ("NEPA") review process and proceeds as
follows:
- Sacramento Municipal Utility District ("SMUD"), in
cooperation with stakeholders and with the
assistance of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission ("FERC"),
conducted NEPA scoping and prepared a Preliminary Draft Environmental
Assessment ("EA").
- The EA was submitted to FERC
along with UARP's license application.
- The one-step NEPA review
process was also coordinated with responsibilities under the
California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA").
